Shop View

Navigate the Shop storefront and understand how synthetic orders appear as arriving customers in the queue.

Use the Shop view

The Shop view is the third workspace view alongside Management and Warehouse. It is a presentation-only storefront projection of existing synthetic orders: it visualizes orders as arriving customers in a shop but does not create, modify, or process them. All business actions happen through the normal order detail window.

What the shop shows

The Shop view presents synthetic order activity as a storefront layout:

  • Storefront scene: Includes an entrance and exit.
  • Service counter: Selectable counter for opening the first order in the main queue.
  • Product displays: Illustrative displays for the products represented in the storefront.
  • Order queue area: Main queue with up to 40 visible customers.
  • Waiting/review area: Area with up to 20 visible customers whose orders need attention or are not ready for normal processing.
  • Customer list: Scrollable sidebar list with rows that include tooltips for the order ID, quantity, state, marketplace status, and hold reason.

The Shop view does not replace the Management screens. Use the order detail window to perform business actions on an order.

Queue classification

The Shop separates existing orders into the main queue and the waiting/review area based on their current committed state:

  • Main queue: Contains up to 40 orders that are paid, supported, nonterminal, not held, and have a READY_TO_SHIP marketplace status.
  • Waiting/review: Contains up to 20 orders that are unpaid, unsupported, blocked, failed, review-required, held, or have a marketplace status other than READY_TO_SHIP.

The Shop tracks up to 60 customers in total: 40 in the main queue and 20 in waiting/review. The sidebar shows exact queue and waiting totals, including orders beyond those visible scene limits, so the full queue size remains visible when overflow occurs.

How customers appear and move

New customers enter from the entrance and walk to their assigned positions in the main queue or waiting/review area. Arrivals are staggered approximately one second apart so that customers do not appear at the same time.

When an order moves between groups, the Shop assigns the customer a new destination. For example, a reservation that discovers a shortage can move an order to waiting/review, where its customer walks to a new position. All movement is purely visual and does not reserve stock, approve orders, or perform any other business action.

In Development builds, customer walk speed and the interval between arrivals are configurable through the development configuration file. These settings are presentation-only and do not affect fulfillment capacity, inventory quantities, order processing, or stock allocation. See Configuration for schema details.

Delivery departures

When an order becomes terminal, the next Shop snapshot includes it as a departure. Terminal states are FULFILLED, CANCELLED, CLOSED_EXTERNAL, and CLOSED_EXCEPTION.

The customer's label changes to Delivery recorded, and the customer walks to the exit before being removed from the scene. The label says Delivery recorded rather than buyer received because the application records synthetic delivery evidence, not verified buyer receipt.

Interaction controls

Use the following controls to inspect the storefront and open order details:

ControlAction
Left-click a customerOpen the order detail window for that customer.
Left-click the service counterOpen the first order in the main queue, or show a message if the queue is empty.
Click a sidebar list rowOpen the order detail for that customer. Tooltips show a summary.
Right-click or middle-button dragPan the camera.
Mouse wheelZoom in or out.
F2Cycle between Management, Warehouse, and Shop views.

If the main queue is empty, clicking the service counter shows: The shop queue is empty. Waiting customers remain selectable. Waiting/review customers remain selectable from the scene and sidebar.

Reduced-motion mode

Enable reduced-motion mode in Settings to skip customer walking animations. New customers appear directly at their destinations, and departing customers are removed immediately instead of animating to the exit.

Zeta saves the reduced-motion preference in the same configuration file as the selected view.

What the shop does not affect

The Shop view is a presentation-only visualization. It does not create orders, reserve stock, approve deliveries, or modify any business state. All business actions happen through the normal order detail window opened by clicking a customer or the service counter.

Toggling views

Press F2 to cycle through the workspace views in this order: Management, Warehouse, and Shop. Zeta remembers the selected view in application preferences.

To start Zeta directly in the Shop view, pass the case-insensitive --view=Shop command-line option:

Zeta.exe --view=Shop

The older ui/warehouse=true preference maps to the Warehouse view. If no selected view is saved, Zeta starts in the Management view.
